Antique Bed

I sold this bed yesterday to another retailer. She bought it for her daughter who is graduating from college for her first apartment. What a great way to start a new chapter in your life. This is and antique bed, some
call it a spindle bed and others said it is called a Jenny Lind bed. What a classic!

Suzani Patterns

SUZANI- an embroidered tribal textile made in Central Asia. I am using the Stout Foolish three dimensional fabric with the Fabricut trim for my curtains in my kitchen to add warmer colors to the space. The second suzani fabric is Brunschwig & Fil, it comes in a million other colors, I had pillows made in this for my client Sarah. If you ever get a chance to watch TV Lands "Hot In Cleveland", they also have pillows in this fabric on the sofa in some of the colors. The last photo is Donghia's fab Suzani, very pricey, that also comes in a lot of cool colors. Now that you know what a suzani is, you will start to see them everywhere.Very big right now!

Canopies and Coronas

You can turn a simple bed into a romantic getaway be using fabric and a canopy to frame your bed. Turn a wooden cornace, corona (crown), a half cirle piece of wood or even a plastic embroidery hoop into a canopy. For the fabric, you can use pre made curtain panels or bed sheets, decorative fabric pieces, fringe trim and a staple gun/ glue gun or tulle, that can cascade to the back or sides of the bed. check out these pictures-

Birds

BIRDS, Birds and more birds. Bird prints, birds screened on wood, birds hung in groupings and owls, yes owl prints. Maybe it's my way of bringing the outside in like some people do with flowers.

I am looking at the beautiful book by Martyn Lawrence Bullard and it has inspired me to change my look in my store. I am getting rid of the things that are to Modern for me like this llaminate dining room set and the ceramic bamboo design lamp. Next blog we will see more color and new influences.

Turquoise Italian Cordials

I bought these Vintage tinty hand blown turquoise cordials on Etsy for my store.
Don't tell anyone but they actually have a SALE section, oh, did I say that out
loud, guess the secret is out.
