Fall View From My Front Porch

This is a brief post of the Fall view from my front porch. I tried shot last
weekend, but the trees hadn't turned yet. I was afraid to wait any longer,
the leaves are falling so fast.

I think we by passed Fall and went straight to Winter.

My First Party at My New Home

Sunday I had my first real get together at my new house, rental
house that is. I wanted to have all the women over for a night of
wine and food and relaxation, the women who worked on The
S.P.A.C.E.'s Pac'n the Street's. A hand full of women planned
an event that closed off a street block in downtown Staunton on
a Saturday in September. A stage full of entertainment, a street
filled with craft vendors and food vendors, all planned in three months
with meetings once a week and most things coming together a week
before the event. We needed a little wine time!

I went to Big Lots for the mercury glass pumpkins, owls, gourds and the
tables glirtery table decorations. I now see that i need a class in flower
arranging! The sunflowers and berries are from Martins.

My newly upholstered  chairs in the Robert Allen fabric. And a lumbar pillow
in a fun Ikat chenille for the center of my sofa from TJ Maxx.

More flowers from Martins, pumpkins and spiders for the front hall
table and my chandelier was hung last week just before the party.

Porch decorations with mossy spiders, pansies, mums and pumpkins.
Nothing like a party to get you to decorate your house inside and out.

Found a pretty cushion for the window seat and some pretty pillows,
the window seat and big pillows are from Pier 1 and the lumbar pillow
in Brunshwig fabric is from my store. The round mirror is a repeat
purchase fro me from TJ Maxx. I have used it before in my staging jobs.

I finally picked up my picked up my grey silk drapes I bought from a friend.
I split them into two pairs instead of one big very heavy pair, they come from
London and are double lined, they are even too long for my high ceilings.
I bought the wood poles, brackets and finials at Lowe's to hold the heavy
drapes. I promise to post more pictures of my bedroom later.

This is the bath tub room, yes you heard me right, this room is for the claw
foot tub and my summer closet. The drapes used to be in my bedroom. The rug
and orchid I bought before the party to spruce up my look, the little table came
with the house, it's not me. I want to find something in marble and iron, french looking.
As I teak things, I will post more pictures. And yes, the get together was a huge success.

Christmas in My Store

Last week I did a three day floor move in my store. I made a huge mess and
I think I scared a few customers away. Oh well, change is a good thing. Once
I am done, the store looks fresh and it makes a huge difference. I brought out
some Christmas items to incorporate with the store, just starting to get ready
for the holidays, see what you think.

I love the Christmas decorations that sparkle and glisten!

Lots of cut crystal, wine glasses in pretty colors and purple flutes. These can be used for
both Thanksgiving and Christmas.

More pretty tables and a little peak at my sleeping love of my life on my french settee and
pillows.

Well that's all for now, more items coming in soon. Some of these items are not only in
my store, but also on my Etsy site. Check it out!

The Before and After of My French Chairs

A couple of years ago, I bought these chairs on Ebay and drove down to Asheville, NC
to pick them up. Last year my intern and I painted them in Ce Ce Caldwell's Chalk Paint
in Dover White and I picked a fabric from Robert Allen's outlet site.

The name of the fabric is Butterfly Place in Lagoon and the trim came from Fabric.com,
the fabric originally was $100 and something a yard, I got it for  $39.64 a yard.

I waited almost a year to get them back from my upholsterer, well worth the wait, they are
stunning if I do say so myself! They are now in my living room, picture to come soon.
