F. Schumacher & Company and Timothy Corrigan

Yesterday I got a large package via UPS from F. Schumacher & Co.
I have a wonderful rep who surprised me with the mother load of beautiful
new fabric samples. The colors, patterns and textures are out of this world

They were so pretty that I decided to spread them out on the camel
back sofa and guess who decided to photo bomb my picture. Hey,
this looks like a cozy spot, right in the middle of Mom's picture.

Some of these samples are designed by the decorator, Timothy Corrigan  and come
in several color ways.

The prices start at $80.00 a yard and go up. I cannot wait to use some of theses
prints and patterns. Just Beautiful!

Before and After of the Caned Bench

A couple of months ago a friend took me over to the Habitat Restore
to look at a large Asian writing desk I thought a client might like. The
price was right, but the size was too over scaled. Out of the corner of my
eye I saw a caned bench, bad '80's brown wood and a gold crushed velvet
fabric. The caning was in great shape, the bench was sturdy, it just needed a
little work. At $63 dollars, it was a bargain. So I first was going to paint it
white and as I was searching though my back room of my fabric stash, I came
across some Robert Allen fabric left over from a job in a beautiful blue and
off white embroidery. I am a sucker for blue and white anything, add black to
the look and I am in love. Here is the bench as I was painting it....."before"

Here is the "after", the bench even came with two cute bolster pillows which
my guy did a bang up job on as well as the upholstering of the bench itself.

So, $63 plus tax for the bench, $100 to upholster it x threeish. A real beauty!

All in a Week

What a week I have had. I dropped off my
fabric and trim at the drapery workroom and
popped in the SPCA shop next to the workroom.
And look what I found for $6.50, I am abscessed
with all things bamboo even though I am not crazy
about the real stuff...........
A real fixer upper, but will soon be beautiful!
I took a bunch of furniture and accessories out of
the store a couple of weeks ago to stage a home
for sale for a friend and another friend asked me
if I would pick up this fainting couch for her on the trip
back to the store.......
Great bones, bad fabric!
My friend Patsy is putting her house on the market and
needs to stage it so she asked if I would take a few things she
wants to get rid of.........

Lots of goodies, a console, dining chairs, chest of drawer, wing chairs, a tobacco
basket and a very funny poster, can you see the young black couple kissing. The house
I staged earlier sold two days after we staged it with a closing date Aug. 1st, so all of
that  had to come back and on the same day Patsy things came in, Thursday! I also got
in a Fall shipment in that afternoon......

What came in this shipments, mirrors, pillows and throws, tables, lamps and voltives.
Time to think Christmas people!
All day Friday, I rearranged the store for a fresh new look and I had to find
homes for all the new arrivals and the returning pieces.......

I did a blue and white window and a green window, freshened up the floor
by moving things around. I even got the spooky tree out. Now my back is
killing me and I am really getting to old for this.
