- This sofa came to me after a realtor found it in an emplty apartment. Most people would have thrown
- it out. The legs were dinged up, the fabric was filthy and there were crickets in the cushion. With a can of ebony wood stain, I painted the legs. The sofa is upholstered in a Kasmir fabric that is a cloesout at $3.50 a yard. What a difference a little imagination can do. Not only is this sofa lovely, it is also well made with good bones.

Parish Hadley Sixty Years of American Design
Yesterday I had a gentleman come into my store, as he was looking
around he noticed that I had the book "Parish Hadley Sixty Years of
American Design". He said he had worked for Sister Parish. I only know
this man as Bill, no last name. How did a Harvard graduate, A New York,
architect, who worked for Sister Parish, end up in Staunton wondering the
streets and only known as Bill/ He sat down in my store and flipped thru
the book looking for the apartment he design for her and we talked about
decorating. He also worked for David Easton when he was decorating for
the now dethroned Patricia Kluge. Bill promised to bring me pictures of
his work in his past life. Amazing, I am in awe!

Sheila Bridges
I just went on to this unbelivable web site for Sheila Bridges
after seeing her "Enchanted Forest" wallpaper in my Country
Living magazine. I love her decoarting, I realized that I have
turned down the pages in my magazines of her work and that
she was voted the best decorator, where have I been? Her toile
fabric and wallpaper are beautiful. I am a true fan and am hooked
on her work. She will inspire me!
