The Factory Antique Mall

Sunday I went out and rearranged my space at The Factory Antique Mall, it is you
know the largest antique mall in the US. My sales for September are down and a little
floor move always promotes sales. And it worked, I have had sales each day since Sunday.

I also brought in new pieces, new Greenleaf Sachets, that smell amazing just in time
for the holidays. Added a little Halloween, see the pumpkins on the table.

I have plans on painting the walls soon, it will be a year since I moved into this space
in December.

By moving things around, i have found that now I have more space and can maybe
bring more furniture in. I also take pictures to help me remember what I have out there
because a lot of it is on Ebay and Etsy, in case something sells and I have to remove it
from my on line shops.

New Fall Decor for the Store and at Home

First off I am working on fixing up my den, I have new curtains, am looking
at a new sofa from World Market, my old one doesn't fit. I will post pictures
when I am happy with the turn out. First, the chair I took out of my space for the
room with the herringbone fabric i found at U-Fab for reupholstering and the great
green pillow i found at World Market.

I just sold my old yellow silk plaid curtains on Ebay, they are going to Miami.
I have been purchasing an obscene amount of porcelain at auctions and thrift stores.
A Victorian Ridgeway Aesthetic Transferware Plate c. 1884.
Ceramic white basket weave mugs and plates by Fitz and Floyd and Jay Willfred.

Fine porcelain hand painted Japanese cup and saucers with song birds and a Greek key
border.
PV Italian Pomegrante plate and pretty Devonshire England floral bowls

And I listed on Ebay my old pink silk dining room drapes, I already have questions about
them and lots of views and watchers. I seem to do pretty well with selling drapes, but I
do need to lay off buying the porcelain for a while.

New Digs and a New Look as We go Into Fall

On my day off, I took a shopping trip over to Charlottesville.
I bought a transition outfit at Stein Mart and ordered some shoes
from Payless designed by Christian Siriano.
Black side zip pants, very slimming. A brown cotton tee and a fun floral scarf with the
tasseled D'Orsay flats. Something I can wear as the temperatures drop, Fall is a week
away on Thursday.

I have had my eye on the Shabby Chic bedding by Rachel Ashwell for Target. It is very similar           to her own line which is very expensive. This set was about $80 each and my Target had two twin
sets, so I went for it. I have already sold my old sets in my booth. I love the look
of all the soft white. All the walls in this rental farm house are Benjamin Moore Bone
White, it is a nice fresh palette to work with, the other place was so dark.

Old and inherited linens make up the look with a slipper chair for sitting and a little
group of Italian tables for a coffee cup.
I try to reuse things when I move, the pretty sheers are from the guest room in the
big Victorian house on Beverley Street in Gospel Hill which I lived in for two
years. I sold to a rent to own after 11 years on the market. TJ Maxx had four
sets of the curtains and I had four windows so I really lucked out.
I found these gorgeous Euro Shams at Stein Mart. My old ones where a floral pattern and
I wanted something a little more elegant and well plane.

The shams are part of the Nina Cambell line for Stein Mart and look like they came from
a more expensive linen store. The bedding is also new, it was in the clearance section of TJ Maxx
and is by Tahari I thinks and I went back to my old curtains from many houses ago. I got tired
of the old English heavy grey silk ones.
This is a little wall vignette that seems to catch every ones eyes, it is right off the den.
I am working with a new Adobe Photoshop program so bear with me. More pictures to come as I get
settled in.

New Pieces for The Store

I love when I get a phone call that there is a great piece of furniture
on the side of the road that I need to go get. I love anything free.
Found the discontinued Robert Allen chenille fabric online for less than $11.00. It is
such a happy fabric.
I have lost my Microsoft Photo Shop, so I apologize for the dark pictures. I brought
in a chair that used to be in my guest room, it is so 1990's, it looks like a really bad
bridesmaid dress.

The fabric is from a company that I loved that went out of business called Silk Loom.
And here is a shot of a piece of furniture that I bought years ago to use as a desk, that
became my dressing table. It is in front of the the chair I repurposed.
I have down sized and really purged my things, so I brought in things that I just don't
have room for like all my fabric covered project boards.
Here is one of two mirrored botanical from Two's Company that used to hang in my
guest room.

And last but not lest a Chippendale shelf that used to hold my Majolica Pitchers.
