New Pieces of Furniture

I love old furniture, yes the new pieces you see today
in all the Decorating Magazines are nice, but they are
not made like the older pieces. Most of the designs you
see today are copies of older styles An older couple asked
me if I would take a couple of pieces they inherited that they
cannot use in their new home. They are down sizing.

50's camel back sofa in it's original fabric!
Very comfy, great place to take a nap!
Mr and Mrs white Victorian Parlor chairs.
Red Eastlake Victorian soldiers chair.
Love these pieces, they really have a lot of character!

Big Design Job/ Third Installation

We hung the draperies and sheers in my clients bedroom last week after I came back
from my trip. They are stunning and really make the room. The studded headboard was
made for me by my upholsterer, the large chaise came from Ballard design and I found
the French extra long bench on the website Kathy Kuo Home.

The drapery fabric is by Beacon Hill, the sheers are Robert Allen and the Drapery Hardware is
also by Robert Allen.

Beaufort South Carolina

On the last leg of my birthday trip. we stopped for one
night in Beaufort South Carolina. What a charming little
town.

Misty morning pictures.

Our favorite stores, Simply Southern and Simply Southern Too. I bought a demilune table
for the store and my sister bought a large watercolor, two prints and a beautiful pair of old
scones( they are from one of the local plantations). We loaded the car down with our goods.

More cute shops and amazing houses turned into commercial spaces.

My new table from Simply Southern on display in my store front window. Beautiful!
Next post, more of the on going drapery installation for my client.

Savannah Georgia

The first night of our trip to Savannah, we went to dinner at a restaurant called Girabaldi's
Cafe. After dinner we went around the corner to Paula Deen's restaurant and store hoping
for a sighting of Paula. This is as close as I got, my sister was hoping to see either Bobby
or Jamie Deen.

Views of the river front.

Pictures of the pretty gardens on our last day in Savannah and a picture of B and me taken
by a homeless veteran.

More pretty parks with the hanging Spanish moss and live oak trees.

Had to take pictures of all the pretty homes, would kill for one of these houses. Some
of these houses even had antique shops in the basements, how fun is that?

Pretty gardens.

More beautiful homes. I need to learn to take pictures of these beautiful home that
don't include massive trees and branches, meters and cars!
