Earlier this week I finally got to finish a project that I had been putting off.
A couple of weeks ago I got out my sewing machine out and made a pillow
in a discontinued fern fabric to take into my antique space. I had 5 pillow
forms on hand, so this week I finished the last four. There were a few mistakes,
like having the one with the fringe going the wrong way, oops, and realizing
that silk and chenille should not be sewn together. It bunches up! But I got it
done and below are the results.
I took them in today to my space and loaded up the sofa with all these pretty pillows.
You can find the at The Staunton Antique Center.

Welcome January
While I had a week off from work, I went by The Staunton Antique Center to check on my space
and take some pictures. It helps me see what has sold, how my space looks and find the things that
I have listed on Ebay that may have sold.

It might be a good time for some tweeking, I could go by and clean it up a little bit.
After Christmas, I meet my siblings in Charlottesville for lunch at Travinia. After lunch
some of us wanted to do a little shopping so we went to Leftover Luxuries. My mom
bought some jewelry and my sister and I bought paintings. Below are pictures of my painting.
I had seen it this summer and now it is 50% off the price, so I splurged. This past
Sunday we went back to Charlottesville for diner on the downtown mall to Fitzroys,
it was delicious. Before dinner, I went down early for a little shopping, here is what I found
at Stein Mart.
I fell in love with this jacket and I am in need of some new pillow cases. I prefer 700 thread count.
I needed a new pair of tennis shoes with more support, I found these at DSW on sale.
These pretty earrings came from a store on the downtown mall named O' Suzannah.
Okay, no more spending for a while. My next big project is my dining room and I have
several clients with projects that I am getting back to in the next several months.

Wearing Many Hats
For those of you that know me well, you know that I wear a lot of hats. I have a steady part time job
in Waynesboro at Anne Arden Under the Roof as a designer and a sales person. I worked two days
a week at Queen City Marketplace to help pay for my spaces until that ended with the owners demise and I have had a decorating business for over a decade now. I also have an Ebay shop and Etsy shop.
On my days off, wish went from one to now three, I am out on the hunt for items to resell. With my
new space at Staunton Antique Center, I am on the look out for tables. So here is what i found today....
This oval wood table will be just what I needed to go in front of my sofa in my new space. I am
giving it a couple of coats of chalk paint.
The little bedside table is not old, not solid wood, but it had so much going on for it that I
couldn't resist. Love the detail. I also used the Martha Stewart Chalk Paint in White on this.
I also found this bottomless old world birdcage and retro gold mirror.
And two pretty pieces, a ceramic pitcher hand painted in Deruta Italy and an Asain vase with grapes.
Along with a pair of silk is custom made drapes to list to one of my on line shops.
On a decorating note, I have been wanting to replace the sisal rug in my kitchen. Sisal's are great rugs because they are all natural, you can hose them down for cleaning and they are a neutral color. This rug I had purchased years ago for my den,it moved with me from house to house and ended up in the kitchen here. It was too small for the space, everything fell into the weave and it sheds, yuck! So I
have been looking at rugs everywhere, on line, in stores, I just needed to make a move. This is the first one I saw that I liked and I broke down and went back to get it. It is very bold for me but I love it.
For you of you that don't know that this is a rental house, the kitchen is large, but ugly.
Dark nasty wood cabinets, old appliances, and broken tile floor. This rug hides a lot and adds
some umph. The rug is from Walmart, is heavy duty and stain resistant. As a celebration of this new
look, I made refrigerator pickles to give away as gifts. Bam!

Welcome to the Staunton Antique Center
Thursday was my move in date at the Staunton Antique Center.
I walked in to a lovely welcome sign. What a nice surprise and it gave me a warm and fuzzy
feeling. This space is similar in size to what I had out at the Factory. So I started the process
of bringing things in. It is nice to get my things back out again and I can gain my house back.

So by Friday I had my space looking pretty good, I am really loving the space and the business.
They play classic music, they have air conditioning and it is friendly and drama free.
It will be fun adding to the space as the weeks go by. Clean slate and a new space, stop by my space when you are in Staunton.
