Thank You T.J. Maaxx

On one cold March day, I went shopping online with T.J. Maxx and found some great tops
for Spring. Their logo is "maxx style. maxx savings maxx life" and they mean it. I found great
tops for work and play.

A beautiful blue wrap top.

A beach cover up for my trip in the fall, I will also wear it as a top with a tank underneath.

 This Italian beauty will add a little color to my wardrobe.

This is a casual top for my days off, and yes, I have already worn it.

Another wrap top that will be great to layer with jackets until it warms up.

A pretty blue tie top, I tried it on and got deodorant on it, hence the wet spot.

A fun off the shoulder top that will not be worn off the shoulder, too old for that.

A fun sheer animal print that I have already worn to work. Got to love T.J. Maxx!

The Official First Day of Spring

It has finally come, the official first day of spring has come. I spent that day inside working.
So today, on my day off, it snowed again. What is wrong with this picture?

This is a wet snow falling outside of my dressing room window. It is cold, snowing
and it makes me not want to go outside. My last post I talked about my spring decorations
outside like my Easter wreath and planting the pansies. So today I spruced up the inside
of the house with fresh spring touches.

I bought these flowers last night at Martins. The Iris opened up immediately and the
tulips are opening up as well. Nothing says spring like fresh flowers. I also have several
orchids blooming.

I got out my collection of Easter eggs, some of these are from my childhood and the large
tulip egg I painted.

And on a last note I made a slurge, now that TJ Maxx is an online shop, I get emails when
they have items in that are made in Italy, I am a sucker for a bamboo handle and this purse
just spoke to me so I ordered it and it just arrived.

It is made by Claudia Firenze and I love the color. Sorry the pictures are a little dark but
that is what you get when it is a snowy day.

Easter Sunday and Spring Decorating

I was lucky enough to have Spring Sunday off, so Mandy and I
headed down to Richmond to see my children. My daughter Ellie
bought a new house so we met there to see what she had done.

Very cute brick house in Henrico that she is renovating with her boyfriend Wes. My
son Edmund also showed up with his dad and we sat down and had a nice time catching
up. Then it was on to my sisters to celebrate Easter with my family. Monday I went back
to my clients house in the fan to remeasure some windows and hang her shades in her kitchen.
I left there and Mandy and I had a great time in one of my favorite haunts, Class and Trash at
Scott's Addition.  I saw a lot that I liked, but came home with another pair or French Arm Chairs,
see last years post at Easter to see the pair I brought home last time.

These two are a pretty shape, with old silk fabric and worn arms. They will hang out
with me until I can figure out what I want to do with them. I moved the 5 leg French chair
to my bedroom and really love it there.

I wanted a little color behind my sad rental stove and found this cute bird plate to hang there.

I planted some pansies in my urns last week and got out my spring wreath for the front
door.

Despite the resent snow and the maybe snow tomorrow, my Hydrangeas are coming up.

Next post will be that spring is finally here!

Will We Ever See Spring

This past weekend I found this bunch of Daffodils at the grocery store. I am so ready
for Spring, I want a yard full of flowers, I want to grow them, see them coming up in
my yard. I get at least 5 flower and vegetable emails or catalogs daily, but I know that
winter is not over.

I found this beautiful 5 legged French Chair at our Habitat Restore for a song
and I plan on recovering it and putting it in my bedroom.

It has beautiful details.

This velvet French slipper chair I bought from Habitat years ago and left it
as is because I saw on on Etsy that looked just like this one and it was pricey.
It has become loose on the back from being in my spaces and I plan on tightening
it and recovering it.

I bought this sewing table from the Mission Thrift and chose an enamel paint in
a crazy yellow, what was I thinking. It takes forever to dry, four coats later!!!!

This is my car this morning through my screen door, it started snowing late last night
and we woke up to 10-12".  Say it's not snow.

Here is my car this afternoon after they plowed my street and I dug myself out so that
I could run to the store. They are calling for more snow this weekend. Were is Spring?

Marching Into 2018

We finally made it to March, no major snow storms, a couple of warm days'
a little wind storm and we are counting down the days to Spring. While stuck
indoors i have made some improvements to the house, read past posts and am
focusing on the store spaces

 You may have not known this but going up I wanted to be an artist. I started taking
art classes at a young age in school and in the summer. I won a few awards, sold a few
paintings and studied graphic design in Atlanta for a few years. I have dabbled in painting
every now and then, a couple of weeks ago on my day off, I went to Michaels and bought
some canvases. Here is the result.....

 Painting is very relaxing, I just let the day and start painting. I use acrylics and the gold
leaf frame is from Blick. I also reordered more candles, sachets and diffusers from the
all green company that i carry called Greenleaf out of Spartanburg, S.C.

It makes my space smell amazing and I added a new item from this company, they now
make soaps. All ready for Spring.

Rain, Rain, and More Rain

This has been one rainy spring. I have very little time outside in the
yard because of the rain. It is also very cold, not a great May!

It is too wet to even enjoy the backyard, and when the sun does come out, I am working.

I guess this means we will have a green summer with lots of blooms.

It supposed to be warm and sunny this week, let's keep our fingers crossed.
