A couple of weeks ago while at the dollar store, I purchased the material to make
this cute Spring/ Easter wreath and hung it on the door.
Even though Spring and Easter are not here yet, I am ready for it. It was snowing today
with flurries off and on.
I found the pansies at Lowes last week and filled the planters, I have to cover them with bags at
night because it is still below 30 degrees.
One more day of cooler temperatures and then it is warming up. I have never been more
ready to see Spring.

New Design Project
This is a project hat I started last year in November. The client's guest room has bedding in
the colors of coral and yellows, she asked me to find her a silk in these warm colors and
we picked this Duralee Fabric which came from a company called James Hare from the UK
and just arrived months after we ordered it. I drew up a flat roman for the windows and she
asked me to pick a trim for the bottom of the shade, I went with the Kravet Smart ball fringe
in Dune to go with the Orissa Silk in Hibiscus. I know these drapes will be stunning in the room.

Before and After of the Big Lots Ottoman
Years ago I bought an ottoman at Big Lots for me old den three houses ago.
This room was huge and long and it could handle a big ottoman In this little
den in my farmhouse, but it is needed. The ottoman is my home office, my desk
and my catch all. When I first bought it, I had it upholstered in a jewel tone Waverly
fabric that went with the look I was doing in this room.
I also painted the legs, which I touched up before it went to the upholsterer. The print
was to busy for the room and the light weight fabric was worn in spots. I wanted a rich
green velvet for a new cover and bought this fabric from Robert Allen almost a year ago
with the intention of finding a matching trim.
I put the project off because I didn't know what I would do with out my ottoman. Where
would all my things go. I finally bight the bullet and started looking for a trim that would
work with the fabric. I found this trim on the Robert Allen Outlet site and fell in love with it.
I took my Italian gold stack tables from my guest room and used them as a make shift
ottoman while my piece was gone.
The chair I bought a couple of weeks ago at the Stuarts Draft Antique Mall and thought it
could be used to prop my feet up on because it is low and I am a sucker for any thing hand
carved, black and gold and any kind slipper chair.
So here is the finished piece all done in less than a month. Love it.
And look what I found while walking downtown today at the Beverley Street Co-Op Art Gallery,
this sweet little painting of some goats called "Browsing" by local artist Christine Watts.

Happy Valentines day
Happy Valentines Day
Nothing says Happy valentines day like flowers. So I picked up a mixed bouquet at my
local grocery store on the way home from work the other day. One Red Rose, a few Carnations,
a little Fressia, lots of Daisies and beautiful pink Lilies that are still opening up. Well
worth the $5.99.

Drapery Install Day
This morning I did a drapery install that has been in the works for almost a year. We had to
wait for the renovations to be done. This is the last doctors house at the old Western State
Hospital that is now called The Villages. The panels were made for the living room and the
dining room. My client loves florals and bright colors. We chose this print from Duralee fabrics
called Kingsmill in Colonial. The drapes transformed these large windows adding color and
warmth to the rooms. More to come on this project.

Shopping Local
This past week i made some purchases at a couple of local businesses.
I found theses Limoge plates at the consignment shop in Waynesboro,
Twice As Nice.
And this cake plate by Royal Kent, England.
I have listed them on Ebay and they will go in my antique space when I have room.
I also have had some luck finding good pieces on Facebook Marketplace, where local
people sell there stuff, so I picked up these two mirrors for a steal.
Oval frame for a mirror.
This beautiful Trudeau Mirror. I have them listed on Ebay as they are, but will later fix them
up and get mirrors for them to put in my spaces. You can find some really good deals if you
shop local.

Welcome January
While I had a week off from work, I went by The Staunton Antique Center to check on my space
and take some pictures. It helps me see what has sold, how my space looks and find the things that
I have listed on Ebay that may have sold.

It might be a good time for some tweeking, I could go by and clean it up a little bit.
After Christmas, I meet my siblings in Charlottesville for lunch at Travinia. After lunch
some of us wanted to do a little shopping so we went to Leftover Luxuries. My mom
bought some jewelry and my sister and I bought paintings. Below are pictures of my painting.
I had seen it this summer and now it is 50% off the price, so I splurged. This past
Sunday we went back to Charlottesville for diner on the downtown mall to Fitzroys,
it was delicious. Before dinner, I went down early for a little shopping, here is what I found
at Stein Mart.
I fell in love with this jacket and I am in need of some new pillow cases. I prefer 700 thread count.
I needed a new pair of tennis shoes with more support, I found these at DSW on sale.
These pretty earrings came from a store on the downtown mall named O' Suzannah.
Okay, no more spending for a while. My next big project is my dining room and I have
several clients with projects that I am getting back to in the next several months.
