Shopping The Shops and an Ice Storm

Recently I have been trying to sell more of my stuff. I have purged my dressing room,
cleaned out closets and emptied my storage boxes. As I have written before, I have antique
spaces at The Staunton Antique Center were I sell things large and small, some things I
have re purposed and a lot of it I also sell online.

My Ebay shop is listed under ,mmcelroy313, and  have listed more than 100 items, it is
a little bit of everything from my shops to my closet.

The Thibaut wallpaper book I no longer use, the egg plate sold this
week to a teacher in upstate New York and the jewelry was in a jewelry box
I bought on Ebay.

Vintage Ralph Lauren blazer I bought on Etsy, a dining room table I bought
from a neighbor, and yes the picture was taken in my dining room and a
group of discontinued fabric samples from Kravet.
I also have several items listed on my Etsy shop, a little over 30 items, under my
name, Margaret McElroy, were you can list anything vintage, self made, including
clothing. Here are a few things from my shop.

You can also find me on Instagram under, Margaret M Mcelroy, were I love
to post pictures of my daily life and I love to pin on Pinterest under, Margaret Mcelroy Interior Design.
And on a last note, we had a cold snap come through late Wednesday night, I
could hear the ice cycles hit my roof into the morning. As the storm got worse, this is what fell in my back yard.

Limbs fell everywhere, exposing the top of the trees and even a large nest. Now we clean
up the mess. More pictures of the storm on my Instagram page  and please check out my antique
booths when you are in Staunton and shop my online shops from your sofa at the comfort of
your home.

Fall

Fall is my favorite time of year, I know I have said this before, but it is true. Here are
a few pictures from my neighborhood.

The last of my roses from my garden and a pretty yellow Birch near my back yard.

Colors peaking through the roof tops and a stunner down the street where Mandy and I
walk.

My front door is ready for trick or treaters and a last look in the back yard at the colors of
Fall and a great scary sky.

Pretty In Pink Drapery Installation

I have finally finished the living room I was working on in Stuarts Draft.
I meet with the client in the Spring to talk about what they wanted to do.
Picked out the colors, fabrics and waited for the painted to come in, he was
booked till August. Had the chair seats reupholstered, ordered the fabric and
trim, the trim was on back order for 17 weeks, yes 17 weeks! Ordered beautiful
hardware, installed that in September and Friday we hung the drapes. One job done!
The results are stunning, so here is the before and after......

This is what the room looked before, straight up 1990's decor. The walls had been
sponged, there is a wallpaper border and it was dark and cramped. The rug is beautiful
and I used it as my inspiration. The clients wanted to make the room appear bigger, let
more light in and bring it to a more current look.

We painted the walls a Benjamin Moore Shell Pink and painted all the wood white,
put in a chair rail and framed out the bottom portion of the room. It made the room
bigger and brighter.

Here is Donna hanging the panels after we put the Duralee hardware up. What a big
difference. I couldn't get a full picture, to many people in the room, me, Donna and the
clients.
Here is a close up of the main products, the top herringbone is the seat cushions on the dining
room chairs is from Stout, the silk tone on tone floral and pink ball fringe is from  Robert Allen with
the B. M. shell pink paint color. Next, new chandelier. I help them with their kitchen after the new year.

Weekend Birthday Celebration

Weeks ago we planned a get together to celebrate my daughter Ellie's birthday and mine.
October the 14th was the first Sunday that we could all get together to celebrate. Everyone
was here except my Mom who is having surgery in Florida and my brother Alex who lives
in Florida. We chose Pollock Vineyards, this is a beautiful setting, they gave us a private
room for the tasting.
That's my daughter Ellie giving me the fish eye.

Here we are doing our tasting with our great server, JP.
My sister Beth organized the whole thing, including quite the spread.
Siblings with my dad, Grandad, as we call him.
Sisters

My sister Helen takes over with my camera.
Our server and my brother L.H.
My son and his Dad.
Grandad and L.H. by the fire.
And lastly,  I was able to sneak out of the store on Saturday and view the vendors
at Waynesboro's Fall Foliage Festival and I bought some pretty jewelry from the
vendor Melanie.

Is Fall Finally Here

My favorite time of year is Fall, I think it finally arrived here to day at
noon thanks to the newest storm. It had been hot and steamy for days which
makes it hard to figure out what to wear. I have been working on my Fall
wardrobe  by donating to Goodwill, listing things on Ebay and consigning pieces
to Twice As Nice. I really need new shoes, so I took advantage of my free shipping
on Amazon Prime. I was ordering my ink for my printer and remembered that they
have cute shoes. I wasn't finding anything locally so I ordered three pairs with my ink
purchase on Saturday.

A tan pair with cute bows by Sam Edelman
A black patent to go with my mainly black wardrobe.
And a snakeskin pair to put a little punch in my wardrobe.

They arrived Tuesday and today which is really fast. Today after a half drapery installation,
we hung the hardware, I will post about the finished look later once the panels go up. The
job was in Stuarts Draft, so after the job was done I drove into Waynesboro to Ross for Less
and found this;
A cute Fall purse and scarf.

The purse is Vegan and the handles have a tortoise loop detail. The scarf is hand emdroidered
and I love the colors.

I have a big birthday weekend planned so I will be able to wear some of my new purchases
as the weather cools down. Yay, Fall
